Abstract
The purpose of doing this research is to investigate whether teachingpassive voice using “Easy Formula for Passive Voice” significantly reinforcesthe students’ achievement of passive voice. The problem of this research isdescribed as follows, does teaching passive voice using “Easy Formula forPassive Voice” significantly reinforce the students’ achievement of passivevoice? There are two hyphotheses in this research. Firstly, the null hypothesis(Ho) which states that the “Easy Formula of Passive Voice” does notsignificantly reinforce the students’ achievement of passive voice. Secondly, the alternative hypothesis (Ha) which says that the “Easy Formula of PassiveVoice” significantly reinforces the students’ achievement of passive voice. In doing this research, the researcher applied pre-experimental studyor single group pre-test and post-test without control group. The technique ofmeasuring data is the measurement technique. The tool of data collecting isobjective test. To know the significances of the students’ score, the researchercompared the result of pre-test and post-test, and then it is computed throught-test.Finally this research is ended with the points that the students’achievement on passive voice is reinforced that shown by these score, themean score of pre-test is 51.15 which is categorized poor to average level andthe score of post-test is 67.06 which is categorized average to good level. Thedifference of these means scores indicates that the using of “Easy Formula forPassive Voice” influences students’ achievement in understanding passivevoice, where the t-test is 7.68. When this score is put into t-table with df N(N-1) = 26 (26-1) with 5% significance, we can see that t-test is bigger than ttableor 7.68 > 2.060. So that, the null hypothesis is rejected and alternativehypothesis is accepted. While the alternative hypothesis is accepted, it means that the use of“Easy Formula for Passive Voice” can reinforce the students’ achievement onpassive voice.
