Abstract

Sungai Kapuas merupakan jalur transportasi air yang sangat penting di Kalimantan Barat dengan melintasi 5 kabupaten dan 1 kota. Permasalahan yang terjadi pada alur pelayaran di Sungai Kapuas adalah menumpuknya sedimen yang cukup parah di bagian mulut muara. Hal tersebut menjadi kendala bagi kapal-kapal yang bermuatan besar untuk berlayar, untuk itu penelitian ini dilakukan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui besar arah dominan gelombang dan transpor sedimen. Penelitian ini dihitung dengan menggunakan metode CERC (Coastal Engineering Research Centre) dan menggunakan data sekunder. Didapatkan bahwa arah gelombang dominan berasal dari arah Utara (U) dengan persentase kejadian sebesar 22,496%. Persentase kejadian dari arah Barat Laut (BL) sebesar 12,145%, arah Barat (B) sebesar 6,253%, arah Barat Daya (BD) sebesar 11,724%. Sedangkan besar transpor sedimen dari arah Barat Laut sebesar -393062,1306 m3/tahun dengan karakteristik sedimen adalah tanah liat, dari arah Barat sebesar -250,1672 m3/tahun dengan karakteristik sedimen adalah tanah liat berlanau dan dari arah Barat Daya sebesar 579090,2782 m3/tahun dengan karakteristik sedimen adalah tanah liat berlanau. Hasil perhitungan sedimen tersebut terdapat hasil negatif yang menandakan tidak terjadinya transpor sedimen dari arah Barat Laut dan Barat, melainkan sedimen tersebut mengalami pengendapan. Untuk itu, perlu dilakukan penanganan yang tepat terhadap permasalahan tersebut untuk mengurangi penumpukan sedimen di daerah penelitian. Kata Kunci: Arah Gelombang, Transpor Sedimen, Muara Kapuas; The Kapuas River is a very important water transportation route in West Kalimantan, crossing 5 districts and 1 city. The problem that occurs in the shipping lane on the Kapuas River is the accumulation of severe sediment at the mouth of the estuary. This becomes an obstacle for ships with large loads to sail, for this reason this research was carried out. The purpose of this study was to determine the dominant direction of waves and sediment transport. This study was calculated using the CERC (Coastal Engineering Research Center) method and using secondary data. It was found that the dominant wave direction came from the North (N) direction with an incidence percentage of 22.496%. The percentage of occurrence from the Northwest (NW) direction is 12.145%, the West (W) direction is 6.253%, the Southwest direction (SW) is 11.724%. While the amount of sediment transport from the Northwest is -393062.1306 m3/year with the characteristics of the sediment being clay, from the West it is -250.1672 m3/year with the sediment characteristics being silty clay and from the Southwest it is 579090.2782 m3/year with sediment characteristics of silty clay. The results of the sediment calculation have negative results which indicate that there is no sediment transport from the Northwest and West, but the sediment is deposited. For this reason, it is necessary to carry out appropriate handling of these problems to reduce sediment buildup in the study area. Keywords: Wave Direction, Sediment Transport, Kapuas Estuary
